The mosque built on the site where, according to Muslim tradition, the Prophet Abraham was born.

According to Muslim tradition it is the location of Ur, and the birthplace of Abraham is said to be at a mosque in the city.
The Great Mosque of Urfa was built in 1170,

Traditionally, Nimrod had Abraham immolated on a funeral pyre, but God turned the fire into water and the burning coals into fish and today, the visitor to the town can visit the mosque complex surrounding Abraham's Cave and The Pool of Sacred Fish around it.
